The Wine-grower’s Festival in the Swiss Bernese Oberland takes place in Spiez. To start the festivities there is an ecumenical religious service on sunday morning. Then comes the parade with more than 40 gloriously colorful floats, which is extremely popular and attracts many spectators every year. The procession always has a theme and many local clubs and businesses take part. After the colorful procession, people gather in the streets and the party tents which makes for a cozy atmosphere.
Particularly noticed is definitely the floral floats with the costume group Spiez-Wimmis. The ladies were dressed in typical Bernese labor and sunday costumes as Gotthelf and Freudenberger.
